"1939" Pilot’s watch

This exclusive design pilot watch by Thomas Gref was inspired by the pilot watches of the 1930’s.

The stainless steel case measures 43mm and has a traditional coin-edge bezel and matching coin-edge on the caseback. The "1939" is @ 12.6 mm thick.

It features a 2 mm thick sapphire crystal and also mineral crystal display back. The slightly oversize onion crown is also evocative the watches of the ’30s.

For the "1939" Pilot watch, Mr. Gref has again chosen the ultra-reliable Swiss-made ETA 2824-2 automatic movement which features 25 jewels, 28,800 BPH (beats per hour), hacking and a quickset date. This particular movement is one of the highest grades of the ETA 2824-2. The movement has the more durable rhodium finish and is highly decorated with perlage on the main plates, and geneva stripes on the rotor. The power reserve is 40 hours. SuperLuminova has been applied to the hands, numerals and markers for luminescence.

The watch strap is hand-made in Italy of fine Italian calfskin.
