These Alligator watch straps are made by one of my European manufacturers with absolutely superb leather from Alligators farm-raised in Louisiana.
My manufacturer is the OEM manufacturer of watch straps for a number of well-known, high-grade watch manufacturers of watches priced from $2,500 to well over $10,000. The quality of manufacture of these premium Alligator watch straps is as superb as the leather that is used to make them.
There are two basic scale patterns for Alligator watch straps. The smaller pattern Alligator watch straps are crafted from leather made from the sides of the Alligator, while the larger pattern Alligator watch straps are crafted from leather made from the underside of the Alligator.
In Europe, these Alligator watch straps sell in stores for between $150 and $300 - depending on whether the watch straps have the larger or smaller patterns.

These three models of Alligator watch straps have a domed padding @ 4.5 to 5 mm at the center and about 2.5 mm at the edges. They thin down for about 3 mm at the buckle. Buyers choice of stainless steel or yellow gold-plated buckle. Buckle sizes are 16 mm for the 18 mm watch straps and 18 mm for the 20’s.
about large scale pattern Alligator watch straps
There are two kinds of large scale patterns for premium Alligator watch straps - the regular more rounded patterns and the "Bamboo" patterns. Watch straps with the large, more rounded patterns are more common because more watch straps with that pattern can be cut from each individual Alligator skin. Only a few straps with the "Bamboo" scale pattern can be cut from each skin, so they are rarer and, are naturally, more expensive.
At mywatchmaker.net, I’ve made the distinction between the two types of large scale pattern Alligator watch straps, and priced them accordingly.
Some Internet dealers show only the more expensive "Bamboo" scale pattern Alligator watch straps on their websites -- but they often deliver the less expensive scale patterned watch straps to their customers. It’s not unlike the old "bait and switch."
