About This Archive

mywatchmaker.net was the mail-order shop of Robert H. (“Bob”) Davis from 2002 to 2024: watch straps by Hadley-Roma, Hirsch, Di-Modell and Bros, deployant clasps, watch winders and cases, watchmaker’s tools and, in earlier years, watches. In 2025 the domain stopped showing the shop. Its current owner has restored the site from the Internet Archive so that the pages stay readable.

The shop is not trading

Nothing on this site can be ordered. The “Add To Cart” buttons on the archived pages are kept for their look but do nothing, and every price is a historical price. Mr Davis’s e-mail address and telephone number have been withheld because he does not run this domain.

How the pages are shown

Each archived page appears as it was last captured before 2025, with its original text, photographs and colours, inside the site’s new design. Above each one you will find the date of that capture, the page’s original address and a link to the capture on the Wayback Machine. Every original address still works: it redirects to the restored page.

361 pages were restored. Of the 676 images they used, 386 survived in the archive; the rest are shown as a simple line drawing marked “Photo not preserved in the archive”. Where Davis photographed the same model for another page, the catalogue card uses that photograph and says so. Where no photograph of a model survives at all, its card shows one of Davis’s photographs of a similar item, marked “Representative photo”; the winder cards, for which no photographs survive, use a stock photograph marked as such. No photograph of a product has been replaced with a picture of a different item.

The photographs in the home page hero, the category tiles and the story panel are stock photography used to illustrate each category in general. They do not show items the shop sold.
